It's even good for use with mobile applications.This turntable boasts a die-cast aluminum plate, a brushless multi-torque direct drive DC motor, and a removable universal cartridge mount. It also features an S-shaped tonearm with counterweight for adjustable tracking force and anti-skate adjustment. These combine to let the Audio-Technica AT-LP1240 turntable offer high-fidelity playback complete with the analog sound effects that are peculiar to records. It runs on a powerful, brushless, 3-phase, 16-pole DC motor. This gives it steady stability and simple back-cueing. It also provides for both forward and reverse play as well as quiet operation at all speeds.Its die-cast aluminum turntable platter is 332mm in diameter. The AT-LP1240 features 3-speed playback with full manual control. You can play 33.3, 45, and 78 RPM records on the LP1240. Besides the standard Start/Stop button, it also has helpful start and brake control adjustments. You can take advantage of the convenient illuminated speed indicator, adjustable pitch control with a quartz speed lock, and a hydraulically damped lift lever. It also has a locking tone armrest so that the cartridge and arm can remain safely immobilized during transport. A dedicated tone arm grounding lug makes operating the unit easier.Containing a switchable phono preamp built in with detachable RCA output cables, you can connect this device to a broad range of external speakers, receivers, or other A/V component equipment and systems.
